In case you didn’t know, NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month. It’s an annual competition to get writers writing. The goal? Write 50,000 words in one month. The prize? Bragging rights.
NaNoWriMo is one of the most exciting things out of the year for me. I have done it every year since 2016 but I’ve only won twice. It’s hard to write 50K in one month, especially if you aren’t fully dedicated to it.

My husband had the week off. He took a staycation and I was able to get a lot of writing done as you can see. I’m over halfway done with NaNoWriMo and farther than I have ever been this early on. I’ve written almost 3,000 words every single day. One day I even reached a total of 6,636 and a couple other days of over 4,000.
The genre, I’m not fully sure of right now, but it is completely different than what I’m used to writing. (So no, this book is not erotica or contemporary romance.) I was a little nervous going into it but here I am, way further ahead then I ever thought I would be by this point.
I’m feeling exhilarated with where I am at and so, so proud of myself.
My total for the book is around 70,000-80,000 and I might just finish it this month instead of doing 50,000 this month and 20,000-30,000 next month and I couldn’t be more excited for it.
If you’re doing NaNo this year, tell me how is it going for you? Remember not to stress too much about your numbers!
