Five Ways to Stay Relaxed This Holiday Season

I was talking to N yesterday about my sexy bucket list post. I asked him if there was anything he wanted to add and he said “hmm, I’ll have to think about it. I usually find the holidays to be so stressful.” I couldn’t believe how right he was.

We spend much of November and almost all of December stressed out about family get-together’s, decorations, gifts, food. and , money. So instead of the post I originally had planned for today, I decided a list of ways to stay stress-free might be more helpful. I picked the numbers at random so there is no particular order of importance.

1. Masturbate

Obviously this one is a given. Masturbation is the ultimate form of self-care as it provides you with a release of happy chemicals. And since no-nut November is over, everyone can freely masturbate to release their stress this December. No time? Try to squeeze it in at least once a week. I’m sure it will make a hell of a difference.

2. Get a Massage

Whether it’s from your partner or you go to a place and get a professional one, massages are a great way to relieve the tension built up in your body from stress. A good massage can make your body feel great and in turn, your mind as well. (P.S. If it’s your partner giving you the massage, please make sure to return the favor.)

3. Buy Something for Yourself

Sure, this is the season of giving and you should focus on that. But it won’t kill anyone for you to buy that item you’ve been eyeing. I’m not suggesting you go all out and spend a bunch of money either. It could be something as simple as a piece of chocolate. Just remember that you deserve a little something too for making it through another stressful holiday season.

4. Spice up Your Sex Life

Just like masturbating, sex can be a great stress-reliever. What I find helps even more if N and I are having a particularly stressful time is to do something different in the bedroom. It just adds something extra to pleasant feelings that follow the next few days. It’s like when we do something different there’s an extra release of endorphins. So dress up, roleplay, try some new positions, go on a romantic date ahead of time, or try out a new toy together. Do something that you both will enjoy but that’s different from what you normally do. Trust me on this one, you’ll thank me later.

5. Try Naked Yoga

Yoga is amazing for your body and mind. It can help you stay grounded when you’re feeling the pressures of every day life and it can provide that little bit of exercise that you should be doing anyways. But naked yoga takes it to another level. When you can be alone with yourself in the nude and do yoga it can bring a greater reward as it can help you be more at ease with every aspect of you. Naked yoga is especially helpful to people who are a little (or a lot) self-conscious. You’re forced to see every part of yourself and that in turn can teach you to love every bit of you. I’m not saying you have to find a some weird class in some creepy person’s home. It’s easy enough to do in your own humble abode.
