Valentine’s Day ♥️ is right around the corner! I know there are a lot of people out there that hate Valentine’s Day because you should show love for your significant other all year around. While I do agree that you should show love all year around I don’t think there’s anything wrong with an extra day to stop for a moment from your busy life and appreciate each other.
All too often we get caught up in the every day hustle and bustle of life. Work, kids, house, other adult responsibilities. It can make one day blend into the next and the next and the next. Valentine’s Day is the perfect day to just step back from all the bullshit and remember why you both fell in love.
Don’t Want To Cook?
If you don’t want to cook on Valentine’s Day then don’t! Make it special. Go out to a restaurant (you should probably call around today and make a reservation. Yes, even to Applebee’s) and enjoy your evening out. If you don’t mind lots of other people around.
If you do, then order something or get something to go and head home. Turn on a movie or your favorite show and just enjoy the time together. Even if this means you cannot be kid free it’s okay. You can still eat together and spend your evening together instead of cooking and dishing out food. And then cleanup is fairly easy.
Now if you love cooking. Go ahead and make your favorite meal. Dress up in just an apron and heels (or no shoes) and cook your heart out. I’m sure your significant other will love the extra mile you’ve gone to make a meal at home.
You could use this as an excuse to cook something a little more fantasy too! Whether that be crab legs, or lobster, or even steak or maybe even that really hard vegan recipe you’ve been wanting to try for a while. Or go the extra mile and make Oysters as they are an aphrodisiac. Make an extra chocolate-y brownie for dessert. Chocolate is also an aphrodisiac. You could easily turn your meal into foreplay.
Go Out To The Movies
Haven’t been on a real date in a while? V-day is the perfect excuse for you to go on an actual date. Maybe you guys don’t want to deal with crowded restaurants, then going to the movies is the perfect solution. You’re still going out together and you get to be in a dark theater together. Might I suggest the backseats? It will make you feel like teenagers all over again. If you start making out, just roll with it. Sometimes it’s fun to feel like a teenager again when it comes to love.
Maybe you’re really stressed and could use a vacation. Why not take a couple days off? Head to a hotel, even if it’s in the same town, and just spend a couple days together. Let all the stress just melt away while you focus on the both of you. Plus hotel room sex, hello!
Celebrate on a Different Day
If you just can’t make it work on Valentine’s Day then choose a different day. This year Valentine’s Day is on Thursday. No harm in pushing your celebrations off until the weekend.
Whatever it is you choose to do, just remember that the day might have been created to sell cards and candy, but it’s a nice day to just remind yourselves why you fell in love. It’s easy to lose focus on that when you’re both so busy. So at least take a few minutes to be alone together.
And at least have sex. If you do nothing else, use the day for an awesome excuse to have sex.
Stay sexy. Stay positive.
